PCA OVM Update Process - Individual Packages

What is the process for updating individual packages on management nodes and compute nodes in a PCA?

We have a PCA X5-2 at v2.4.3. We completed the upgrade to v2.4.3 a few months ago, and have since received errata indicating security updates for individual packages on the OVM servers within the PCA - the uek kernel, openssl, and sudo among them.

Per Oracle documentation a PCA is to be updated via the pca_upgrader only when new PCA versions are released. I would like to be able to update packages on servers within the PCA in general and specifically when there are security concerns. Do I need to enable yum repositories on the management nodes?
