What is the impact after enabling 'Based on Rollup' flag on 'Item Costs' form?

There was a 'BUY' item. Recently, client changed it to 'MAKE' item. As it was 'BUY' item, 'Based on Rollup' flag on 'Item Costs' form is unchecked. Due to this, item is not available in the parameter('Specific Item') LOV of 'Supply Chain Cost Rollup - No Report' request. If we check 'Based on Rollup' flag on 'Item Costs' form, then item is available in the request parameter's LOV. We tested this on Test instance. Now, want to perform same on Production. Before that, we want to know what is the impact due to this.
