How to use an Informix 32-bit database source in OBIEE 12c

  • I've successfully imported the Informix data structures into my OBI .RPD file by using an ODBC connection to my Informix database.
  • Issue - when I try to create an OBI Analysis (either using the Subject Area I created OR creating a Direct Database Request) object based on this data, I get an “architecture mismatch” error, and from my research it’s because OBI is a 64-bit app attempting to connect to a 32-bit database.
  • Detailed error:    [nQSError: 16001] ODBC error state: IM014 code: 0 message: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] The specified DSN contains an architecture mismatch between the Driver and Application. (HY000)
