How to filter data pickers with the users permissions

Hello,

Data pickers are not restricted by permissions and show all data regardless of the users permission, giving access to information user should not see. Is there any way to filter only the records user can see? We have been replacing BP pickers with data pickers since we got a reply saying PB pickers are not going to be enhanced but without the restrictions on data pickers by permissions we don't see how we can replace bp pickers. How do you manage permission issues?
