Period of Supply, OPV and Leadtime

in Manufacturing - JDE1 (MOSC) 4 commentsAnswered ✓

Dear All,

We are using

Period of supply=4 , OPV=6, Planning Fence= 30, Freeze Fence= Lead time + 2 days.

Weekly items which have the lead time of greater then 15 days. Its mainly because we have the forecast uploaded on weekly bucket.

Question1: If the OPV is 6 and Leadtime is 10 then how does system reacts? I mean like

First negative On hand + 6 OPV days ?

First negative On hand + 6 OPV days + 10 Leadtime days?

Which among above system takes?

Question2:Best practice is having the OPV same as lead time but we can not use it as its because we have the forecast for entire Quarter? Is there any suggestions how we can control to not to eat the future forecast?
