Can a location be re-assigned to a different logical branch/plant dynamically?
Our client has two trading companies. In the same physical warehouse they have marked the aisles and locations as belonging to either one of the trading companies. In JDE, they have set up two logical branch/plants belonging to the either company.
They have the problem that the stock levels in the two companies fluctuate and they need the ability to re-assign locations to the other company dynamically. As far as I know, in JDE you cannot change the branch/plant MCU on the Location Master F4100 to assign the location to another branch/company.
As a workaround, we have suggested to mirror all locations in both logical branch/plants so that the physical location can be used for both companies. However, when a location holds items in one branch plant, it must also be marked as not empty and not available for putaway in the linked mirror branch/plant. In the Tie Breaker table F46027 we have the field LOCS Location Status. The data dictionary says that this field is set to one when the location is not empty. We want to program a modification that synchronizes the F46027 records between the two branch/plants to stop
