Project Key Members - Delete option

Good morning,

I've noticed application allows to delete any role on Project Key Role form. I thought it needed to end date the role and then assign new role. That is not the case. Could you please confirm if that is standard functionality, that the system will allow delete the record instead of end-dated. Deleting the records will not allow to keep a history of previous Project manager or any role for the project.
