Inquiry: Record field PROJECT_ID FORMATLENGTH

In 9.1 the display length at chart-field configuration for the Project Id field is 7 and the search display length allows up-to 15 CHAR . In 9.2 we have the same settings but project id searches limits to 7 CHARACTER unlike 9.1 environment. The actual field limit is 15.

Is this a Bug in 9.2 ? Is there a setup to fix the issue ?

-9.1 Project Id display length chart-field configuration settings. Requirement is to keep it to 7 CHAR to avoid leading zeros to the project Id.
