My Team Manager Self Service Slow Performance

We are on PeopleSoft HCM PUM 36 and PeopleTools 8.58.05.
We have recently started on boarding an employee classification of "Non-Employees" so that all contractors are represented by an employment instance albeit unpaid. This allows us to manage access into our system more easily but has resulted in large non-employee populations reporting to specific leadership within our organization. One major area of pain felt within the application is through the "My Team" tile. When we bring in student workers we can have up to 1,000 non-employees reporting to one person and the My Team tile just spins for upwards of 4 minutes.
