Effect of rpasConfig.properties -- asynchronous.task.execution=true/false setting

The Admin FC Guide has this description:

asynchronous.task.execution - Asynchronous Task Execution Property. In a cloud environment, if task execution (for example, workbook create) takes too much time, then a TCP socket timeout can occur. If this property is true, the task executes asynchronously so that the request is alive. If this property is set to false, the execution is synchronous.

RPAS Fusion Client: "RPAS Error Message: incompatible type information while reading retek.mdap.bridge.ProfileData" When executing Custom Menu Run Post 16.0.3.70 Upgrade (Doc ID 2579152.1)

We are facing an issue very similar to the above KB, but in later version (16.0.3.201). Would like to try the suggested work-around in changing asynchronous.task.execution, but want to better understand the risks of changing the setting. A little more detail of the risks in changing it to =false? Thx!

Howdy, Stranger!
