Rman Convert to different patch level and startup question.

Hi,

we have to move a large 10G database from windows to Linux. We followed the documentation here https://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/backup.102/b14191/dbxptrn.htm#CHDEICED.

We are in test phase. We restored a copy of live database in a different windows server with exact SO version and Oracle version and patch level to test the procedure.

Now I have 2 questions regarding the next steps

------------ first question:

We've already run rman convert without any problem. Now we have to install oracle software on the target system (OEL 5.7) but we found this paper (https://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/features/availability/maa-wp-10gr2-platformmigrationtdb-131164.pdf
