How to recycle Tape volumes with low space left

in Oracle HSM and StorageTek QFS Software (MOSC) 3 commentsAnswered 
We have an HSM system with 120 tape volumes that are almost all full, we have been removing a lot of data recently and I have been running recycler -dvx which has been running normally. However this does not seem to change the storage within the tape volumes, I am 'very' new to supporting our HSM system and I would like to know If I ran this command



 "sam-recycler -X archive_arch.1 -recycle_hwm 40 -recycle_dataquantity 10240G -recycle_mingain 20

We only have a few volumes that are not full and I would like to try and reclaim some space from the tape volumes but without crashing our HSM, would this command do that without causing any issues?
