Is it advisable to update Apache to latest version available at apache.org?

Hi,

I recently updated httpd using yum update, and it updated to version 2.4.37. I have Oracle Linux Server 8.2 with latest unbreakable kernel.

I checked at apache.org, and the latest available version released is 2.4.48.

RHEL8 supports up to version 2.4.37.

We recently had a security scan, and was advised to upgrade httpd to version 2.4.46 or later available version.

Question:

1) Is it advisable to upgrade to version beyond 2.4.37 since RedHat officially states that only supports up to 2.4.37? Any implications?

2) If upgrading to 2.4.48 is inevitable, what is the best and less impacting way to go about updating it?

Appreciate any input and thoughts. Thank you!
