DCS-10001:Internal error encountered: Failed to delete dbhome with id

I came across an interesting issue when trying to delete an old 11.2.0.4 ORACLE_HOME on an ODA X6-2L running ODA Release 19.9 so I thought I'd document it here in case it is useful to anyone else.

Performing a "delete-dbhome" on the ORACLE_HOME kept failing with the job showing the following error :

Removing ssh keys                       August 26, 2021 11:42:01 AM BST    August 26, 2021 11:42:02 AM BST    Failure


I assumed the ssh keys error was an accurate and spent quite a lot of time researching it and checking the known_hosts file etc. but it was a red herring.


Wading through the /opt/oracle/dcs/log/dcs-agent.log I spotted
