Short stack dump: ORA-00072: process "Unix process pid: <>, image: <> is not active

Oracle EE 11.2.0.4 on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 SP5 - occasionally (once a month) getting error in trace file: Short stack dump: ORA-00072: process "Unix process pid: <>, image: <>" is not active when database issued shutdown immediate. This is causing database does not complete shutdown. Any help to avoid this ? Thanks.
