Asset Disposal vs Retirement

Asset Retirement when used from the following navigation doesn't validate the Status of Project whether Active or Inactive if Edit Option is enabled on the BU.

Asset Management - Asset Transaction - Asset Disposal - Retire/Reinstate Asset

Whereas Disposal Worksheet validates the Status of Project whether it is Active or Inactive.

Is there any reasons for this.
