Key storage for AES256 Network Data Encryption

Hello,

Our CISO team are asking where the encryption key is stored by Oracle that is used to convert plaintext data into unintelligible ciphertext when enabling Network Data Encryption.

I am told by CISO a key is required in order to use the AES encryption algorithm and they want to know how and where it is stored. The link above mentions the Oracle Database Key Management function is used but we would like to know more about where the key is stored and that it is stored securely.

Thanks for any replies!

Colin
