sip-interface and steering pool is outside network interface subnet

Situation:

Network interface used for sip has private addressing (network with mask /29)

Network interface used for steering pool has private addressing (network with mask /29)

 

Sip-interface has public address a.b.c.d (/32)

Steering pool has public address a.b.c.e(/32)

 

In the past to make such configuration possible one can add as hip-ip ithe addresses of sip-interface and steering pool. Of course with impact to security.

 Is it still necessary, From each version was it improved?
