Authentication Local Users against Active Directory

I have several Oracle 12c and 19c Databases with users defined at the DB i.e. authentication done directly by Oracle DB and passwords stored in the DB. This means when I need to change these passwords I have to find all the things using them externally like scripts etc. and update the password there too. One thing that struck me was whether or not I could move the authentication and hence the password of these locally defined users to Active Directory i.e. scripts connect in as normal with username/password but Oracle takes that username/password and validates it against an external
