Absence Management - Unable to refer Balance Accumulator in Day Formula

Usually we can refer the leave plan balance accumulator values in the corresponding Day formula.  In one leave plan, the balance accumulator value return zero, even though the employee has credit balance.  Is there any suggestion as to which part of the configuration settings went wrong?
