Enable Session TImers on SIPREC Leg of a Call

All,

Is there a way to enable SIP session timers (RFC4028 session-expires) on a SIPREC leg of the call. 

The session-timer-profile option on the sip-interface  does not seem to work for the SIPREC leg.

Trying to find a work around for an issue (a possible bug)  where the SBC stops sending SIPREC SIP messages midway through a long duration call and leaves hung SIPREC sessions on a Verint Call Recorder, which consumes licenses on the Verint Side, until cleared manually.
