21c : cannot see the ASM diskgroup from dbca

Hi,
With VirtualBox I created an Oracle Linux 8.4 VM on which I'm planning to run 21c databases. So basically I'm following the same guidelines I did for 19c to do the following:
- Install GI 21c just for ASM
- Install RDBMS 21c using ASM as the filesystem

I somehow managed to get the ASMLib packages for Oracle Linux 8 and I installed GI successfully without issue.
The grid user is the GI owner.
I then installed the RDBMS product, also successfully. The oracle user is the RDBMS owner.
Now, I'm trying to create a Database using dbca, but when it comes to choosing the storage option, I cannot see my ASM diskgroup I created using oracleasm, the screen is blank:
