ESS Address Change + Page & Field Configurator

We are just updated to PUM and are starting to use Page & Field Configurator.  We are looking to make certain fields (Address Line 1, City, State, Postal) required in ESS as for some reason, employees have been leaving them blank since we moved to fluid.

I've tried the address fields and either it's too much or too little and I am just not having any success.  Wondering if anyone has done this and gotten it to work successfully (before going the customization route).
