I am seeing root file system filling up for no reason!!!

/dev/mapper/VolGroupSys0-LogVolRoot   45G   42G   24M 100% /

DB system with linux 7.9. I removed files and something keeps eating up the file system.
like something from /proc maybe
Has anyone experienced this?
