What are the setups which need to be taken to have SSD=CRD

Dear Experts,

Would like to know what are the item setups that need to be taken care to have Schedule Ship Date (SSD) = Customer Request Date (CRD).

We tried to schedule a order and could see that customer request date falls 5 days ahead of schedule ship date.

We see that Planning Time Fence (PTF) is set as 5 at item level and wanted to know is it this setting which is causing this or do we need to change any other setting.
Please help.
