[SOLVED] RAC 12.2.0.1, SE - ASM - Add or Expand? Online & Offline?
Good morning,
We're running out of volume space on two ASM data-dedicated volumes created on Dell Compellent (volumes are mapped to two nodes via iSCSI, multipath included).
We've got plenty of space we can add, but I'm wondering if it's better to add new disks to an existing volume group or expand current disks. I'll probably go with the first scenario.
I've created a plan that I'm about to execute during an upcoming maintenance window, but I think that some configuration can be done before it:
1. Create two volumes of the exact same configuration (including the size) as the existing ones (200GB) and map them to your nodes [It can be done today, it doesn't affect db at all]
