Custom Activity Guide Category and Template

I am looking to implement an Activity Guide that is specifically used for Job Data Changes that I can customize per Event Class. Has anyone successfully done this and how did you get your Activity Guide to launch for a specific Event Class? I have a Custom Category and an Activity Guide built but am unable to associate them with an Event Class.
