How to safely enable Oracle Features

Hi Team,

About two weeks I utilized 'chopt disable oaa' to disable Oracle Advanced Analytics. What happened in the process is that it crashed all of the other Oracle Instances that were running on the Server, even though the Oracle Documentation does not specify this. It does suggest shutting down the DB, but not inclusion of others that were not targeted by the ORAENV.


My question is, how do I safely enable Oracle Features in the future? Do all the Oracle Instances have to be shutdown in-order to proceed?
