Adjustment period entered as a month instead of a day what are the possible implications?

in General Ledger - EBS (MOSC) Question

The adjustment period was set as 01-SEP-2021 to 30-SEP-2021 in error whoever it is already in use an cannot be modified. I am aware of what needs to be done to change it (Doc ID 1061798.1) however I want to know if the change is required and what are the implications if any of not making this change.
