Can you add components to Manage Business Partners matrix types?

We would like to add components to the Manage Business Partners matrix types beyond the ones that are delivered. For example, we want it to work for the health benefits page so the individuals can only see the health benefits for employees that are part of the group id they are assigned to in their matrix team.
