Multi-state Unemployment Calculations - JDE E1 9.2
Hi,
I am trying to gain insight on how unemployment taxes are handled in companies that have multi-state employees.
As an example, an employee is working in DE for the first part of the year and PA the second half of the year. Vertex calculated the unemployment tax in DE up to the wage base limit, but when the employee started working in PA, the system included all wages in excess - presumably because the wage limit had already been met in the first state.
I didn't see anywhere in the Vertex guide that provided insight into how these calculations work when multiple states are included. We have some employees that work in 5+ states at various times throughout the year.
