EOC Job Cat (UDC 06/J) for Canada - right justification causing space?

On P08001CA, Job Entry - Canada Legislative/Regulatory Data, for the EEOJ field, the UDCs we are 2 characters instead of the 3 permitted in the field.

When making entry on the EEOJ field, the default from visual assist is inserting a blank space in position 1 and right justifying the field which throws an invalid UDC Code error. [because there is no space in the UDC].

Is there a way to force the field to stop doing the right justification and inserting the blank when the UDC is less than 3 characters.
