Can you control the Dates in P4310

Is it possible to have PDDJ in P4310 auto-populate the same date every time an order is entered but still be able to override the date manually. We would love for this field to be able to be blank but i do not think that is possible. We are wanting to force our Raw Material managers to have to update this field once they have confirmation from a supplier of when a material will arrive. We already have an EDI process setup for those but that is only a very small percentage of our orders. We
