Prompt Data Selection and Pass RI Variable to a UBE from an Application

From a custom application, I need to submit a UBE and pass a RI variable to report and also have the data selection prompted so that the user can change the data selection. I’ve looked at the system function “Launch Batch Application” but I can’t find where I can pass the RI variable as well.

 Is there a business or system function that will allow me to pass an RI variable plus have the data selection prompted?
