Refresh Database only in R12.2.10

We recently upgraded application from 12.1.3 to 12.2.10. In 12.1.3, we refresh database twice a day for production support and it was taking 1.5 hours to complete the refresh. In 12.2, we were not able to refresh database only because we need to detach Oracle home and remove FMW_Home directory before run the adcfgclone.pl script. Is there a simple step to refresh database only in R12.2? Also, after AppsTier adcfgclone.pl it is required to change APPS password in weblogic admin server manually. It is taking almost 5 hours minimum to complete one refresh with all manual steps.

Currently we are running,

perl adcfgclone.pl dbtier $CONTEXT_FILE
