How is set the instance numbering for instance_number and instance_id in IB ?

in Install Base and Asset Tracking - EBS (MOSC) Question

Hello,

I would like to know how to set the sequence for instance number and instance_id.

I am starting the setup of CSI module but I don't find any menu of the install base admin responsibility to set the numbering of instance number and id.

Could instance_id and instance number be distinct ?
