Purge Stuck Life Events

We are using PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 Image 38. We are 2 1/2 years since implementation and I am getting numerous calls from employees trying to submit a new life event where an old date is stuck in the date field. This happens when an employee started a life event (1) some time ago, but didn't "Cancel" the life event...maybe they used the wrong event, and just exited the life event without properly Canceling.
