Adding disk to ASM Diskgroup

Dear Friends,

We have critical Production database and in RAC with 2 nodes. Version of this setup 12c(12.1.0.2). We have ASM instances and found one of the diskgroup - DATA almost full (99%) and existing

disk in the Diskgroup with the size of 2 TB.We are in a situation to add additional disks.

We use Big file tablespace in the Diskgroup and it needs to be extended. We have created addtional ASM disk with the size of 2 TB to add in the diskgroup - DATA.

Is there any prerequisites to be performed before adding ASM disk to the Diskgroup - DATA

Is there any restriction or concern regarding bigfile tablespace growth here.
