Shutting down instance (abort)

Before backup Oracle 11.2.0.4 goes down (shutdown immediate) but alert.log has as ' Shutting down instance (abort)'

Trying

find out the reason why is it aborting instead of 'shutdown immediate' ....

/var/log/messages

has:
