Curious to understand why ADOP CUTOVER is irreversible

in Install, Upgrade, Clone, Patch - EBS (MOSC) Question

Until Cutover completes, we have both the editions in DB as well as File system level. As per EBR, both the editions are isolated entities and hence the changes applied to the PATCH Edition is done in isolation. So curious to understand the technical challenges that prevents it to revert after a successful/failed CUTOVER.

Though I can understand it can't be reverted after the cleanup phase, as it erases the OLDER Edition.


Could someone help me understand it.
