Service Contracts Renewal Process

Hi,

We recently had about 44k contracts renew for an additional year. The renewal process took about 8 hours to complete. The first four hours we could track the process by counting the number of new contract headers (okc_k_headers_all_b) with a UL sts_code. But, then the next four hours we were blind to what was taking place, other than seeing some activity in workflow (WF_) tables. Why did it take Oracle so long to update the 44k records from UL sts_code to SIGNED status code?

The goal is to have it run faster. Looking for any insight into what it might be doing that is taking so long.
