Spouse Life customization to use Employee as Demographic source

in Compensation and Benefits - EBS (MOSC) Question

Delivered Spouse Life Age Reduction can only be derived by using Spouse/Domestic Partner demographics. Our Benefits department has requested it be based on Employee Demographics (age). I need clarification on recommendations for a customization to base Spouse Life Age reduction on Employees age, rather than building a new Benefit Plan and updating our Benefit Programs.
