Oracle database shutdown immediate command hangs & Unable to generate logfile

Hi Team,

I have installed oracle 12.2.0.1.0 binaries and created 3 new blank databases in azure linux vm.

DB is not getting down when i issue shutdown immediate and it is waiting for archive log switch and it is not happening.

I tried manually and it is not happening

alter system switch logfile;

operating system: Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 7.9 (Maipo)

Total memory -- 62 GB

Allocated memory each database - SGA 13GB, PGA -2 GB.

I have not imported application data to these databases.

Please do needful.
