Is there a default setting that times out user connections after 15 minutes of inactivity?

We have several long running processes that keep a connection open with the database for more than 15 minutes while xml is processed. We always seem to get a connection error after 15 minutes of inactivity. We need the connection to stay open longer for the transaction to finish.

We can't seem to find a database or sqlnet.ora setting that would have 15 minutes as a default when left unspecified. Does anyone know of such a setting?
