Date of death collected on Hollow view passed to PERSON via SOA timing

We are on CS 9.2 pum 23 oraclce datebase. I have been asked to identify when a date of death has been entered and pass this information to another department. The component that this process is entered is SA_DECEASED_DATA and the record on the page is SCC_PERSON_H. The navigation to the process is MAIN >> Campus Community >> Personal Information >> Biographical >> Personal Attributes >> Decedent Data. I do not understand hollow views and the SOA process to populate the PERSON record. I have code on record save post change to pick up data in this
