How to pull in datetracked global value into Fast formula?

I've searched many fast formula documents and User's Guide, etc. with no luck of finding the answer to the below question.

I'm pulling in a datetracked global value used in an accrual plan accrual formula. Other than retrieving the global value is there something else that has to be done to pull in the correct datetracked global value entry for the datetracked date on the accrual form?
