Prevent Sales Order from updating related Sales Blanket

We have seen an issue where where if the quantity or other related information on a Sales Orders is changed, the related Sales Blanket will update as well. What is worse, if the Sales Blanket line had previously been completed (status 999), this will re-open the blanket line with the updated details.

Can this be stopped or controlled?
