End customer field on order forms

Normally when an end-customer is entered on a shippable order line, when the product ships, the owner in the install base is updated to that end-customer. On Contract item types for service contracts on an order, when we enter the end-customer on the order and the order closes / invoices, the end-customer is not updated in the install base to that new owner. Is it possible to have the owner updated in the install base in this scenario?
