12cR2 RMAN Restore from ASM to Non ASM takes a longer time waiting for the ASMB process

We had challenges during the DB restore, restore database command didn’t work. There was no error as such, however the process was in hung state without any progress. Hence we thought of restoring file by file serially and it is working fine when we restore 1 datafile at a time.

Seems its a known issue as per Blog:
