Can an approval route be selected at the time a req is created?

We are on E1 9.2.5.3. We have a few users who enter requisitions for different departments. Is there a way for them to select the approval route the req will go to at the time the requisition is created? Currently we have system set for req's to go to default approval route - hoping we can set up an alternate version for these users?
